Bespoke Peels

What are skin peels

A skin peel may conjure up images of Samantha’s red face in Sex And The City but fear not. My approach to peels is one that puts skin health first with a focus on visible results. Always gentle and low level and no downtime!

Peels can be suitable for all skin types and although the word itself sounds aggressive the Dermalogica peels aren’t medical grade peels. They are ‘progressive’ peels that you can have more frequently as opposed to the more invasive, ‘aggressive’, medium and deep depth peels which require downtime.

The aim of a peel is to remove cells from the outer layers of the skin (the Epidermis). The deeper layers of the skin respond by regenerating new skin and increasing production of collagen to help create vibrant, smooth skin. Each peel encourages the skins natural ability to rejuvenate and restore its optimal barrier function and ph level. Used with specific formulations, strengths and PH levels they can be one of the most skin-transforming treatments.

The suite of peels, including Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) and Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHA’s) have different molecular sizes to penetrate the skin to different degrees allowing a variety of skin concerns to be treated. Acids are really nothing to be afraid of when used in the correct, safe way.

Depending on the peel and the type of skin being treated you may feel slight tingling, heat sensation or itching which dissipates quickly. Post treatment, you may feel some tightening of the skin and light flaking may begin within 1 – 3 days and usually subsides within 7 – 10 days. However, it’s impossible to predict this process and some peels cause no flaking.

If you are a first time client I’ll need to have seen you previously for a bespoke facial to check skin suitability prior to your first peel treatment.

Bio-Impedance Technology

What is Bio-Impedance Technology

A small hand held device with a sophisticated skin membrane sensor which uses advanced technology to calculate the moisture content (not oil) level of the skin. It’s really interesting to compare different areas of the face before and after treatments , helping to gauge where hydration levels need increasing.

Dermalux LED Phototherapy

What is Dermalux LED Phototherapy?

A non-invasive treatment that uses the most clinically proven wavelengths to energise cells and trigger the skins natural rejuvenating and healing processes to boost collagen and elastin and treat a wide range of conditions.

LED Phototherapy for pain management

As well as treating skin conditions, the Dermalux LED Phototherapy device is CE Marked as a Class 2 Medical Device for Dermal Wound Healing and treating psoriasis in the European Union and is effective at reducing pain and inflammation, as well as tissue repair. It works by delivering optimised light at various wavelengths that have a therapeutic benefit to the cells. This light is absorbed by the skin cells mitochondria to stimulate energy production, as well as increasing microcirculation and decreasing arthritic and joint pain, muscle spasm and muscle and joint stiffness thanks to its superior ability to decrease inflammation within the tissues. The protocols use predominately Infrared at 830nm for its deep tissue regenerative benefits, along with small doses of red light at 633nm, along with blue light at 415nm for anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties. The device can be used to effectively on all areas of the body.

The treatment experience is very relaxing, non-invasive and completely pain-free.

Microcurrent Facials

Loved by many famous faces, Microcurrent is a safe, effective skin rejuvenation treatment. It has been used in the medical field for many years for the treatment of Bells Palsy and strokes to help stimulate and re-educate the facial muscles. It’s also used for its skin healing and beauty benefits earning itself the nickname ‘the non-surgical facelift’! Microcurrent is often offered as a course of treatment as the effect is cumulative. It can also just be incorporated into your regular bespoke facials every 4 - 6 weeks.

Microneedling

What is it?

Microneedling is an advanced service designed to get maximum results for hyperpigmentation, pores, scarring, lines and wrinkles.

Microneedling uses a skin needling device to perforate the skin, creating thousands of pin-prick fractional wounds (micro-injuries) that trigger an inflammatory reaction. This inflammatory response initiates natural repair processes that promote skin rejuvenation. Microneedling is known by many names – skin needling, micro needling or collagen induction therapy.

Melanopro

What is it?

Melanopro Peel System is a clinical-strength peel programme that delivers visible results in less than 6 weeks.  This transformative 2-phase regimen works to visibly counteract environmental skin damage – fading dark spots, reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation, and smoothing skin texture to reveal fresh, brighter skin.

Nanoinfusion Facials

What are they?

Nanoneedling goes by various other names such as Microchanneling, Nano infusion or Nano exfoliation. It is a non-invasive procedure that involves the use of a pen style modality and nano-tips – not needles as the name might suggest. It uses very tiny cones formed of silicone or stainless steel that do not penetrate the skin but do help with resurfacing and product infusion.

Nanoinfusion facials improve skin texture, boost hydration as well as address signs of premature skin ageing. The most immediate, visible change in the skin is a wonderful hydrating glow.

This is a great treatment for those that are not suitable for or just don’t fancy the more invasive Microneedling treatment.

Radiofrequency Facials

What are they?

It’s one of those technologies that is so comfortable but also delivers on results. Many of my clients request radio frequency within their bespoke facials because they love how it makes them feel and look. Even after one treatment clients experience a significant change in the texture and quality of their skin.

Radio frequency is a non-invasive treatment that combines the tightening and pore opening of Radio Frequency with the active ingredient penetration action of Electroporation to stimulate collagen production, tighten and lift the skin, reduce wrinkles and improve skin tone.

Ultrasonic

What is Ultrasonic technology

Unless contraindicated most treatments have an element of ultrasonic technology - vibrating low frequency sound waves and microcurrent help to loosen dead skin cells and blackheads to leave skin smooth and soft whilst the the ultrasonic waves increase product infusion of active ingredients into the skin between 50 and 70% and increase circulation, collagen and cell renewal.
